Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe is an American country music artist and singer. Following the release of two singles and an album called Satisfied in 2007 she formed an ensemble called Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley as well as Miranda Lambert and released her second album, titled Like a Rose in 2013. Ashley Monroe, Assistant Village Manager of the village in Riverside Illinois has more than 15 years of experience working within the private sector. She spent nearly five years in Iowa City as the Deputy City Manager. Her current duties as Assistant Village Manager include management of the Community Development and Building Department in coordinating grant applications and working on special tasks. Ashley aids in the daily administration of Riverside's services as well as implementing the elected officials' and community goals. Ashley has served in a range of positions in the past, including municipal planning, government communications budgeting personnel management collective bargaining and working on climate change-related initiatives. Ashley's participation in National organizations and work with communities of varying populations has given her an understanding of the different aspects and similarities in the way different public institutions operate. Ashley's class is focused on management, leadership and public administration from the viewpoint of a practicing practitioner. Her focus is on ethical and strategic decision-making adaptation to current issues and opportunities and navigating interactions between the community and government will provide a framework for future and working professionals within public institutions.
